The LA Thieves are in talks to sign Jeremiah "Nium" Harrison to the starting roster from the Huntsmen, enacting a provision in the loan contract.

A few weeks ago, it was revealed that Thieves had the option to sign the young star due to an agreement with Huntsmen/OpTic. This agreement allows the LA-based franchise to add Nium to the first team within a certain timeframe. Following a disappointing performance at Major 1, this signing is now expected to be a formality. The Thieves have a 7-to-14-day window to finalize the agreement before Nium becomes available to all other CDL teams, and it seems they are moving quickly on this decision.

In an unsurprising turn of events, two-time World Champion Kenneth "Kenny" Williams will be losing his starting spot to Nium. Just two weeks before the Major, it seemed that Kenny and the Thieves had resolved some issues, as his personal performance improved and the team secured a significant win over OpTic Texas. However, with recent events, the team felt they had no choice but to move on.

It will be interesting to see what’s next for Kenny since he isn't the type of player to drop down to Challengers. Multiple teams are expected to make changes before Stage 2, so could Kenny find himself on one of those teams? Interestingly, one of the surprises from this major was Toronto KOI placing in the top 12. They were among the teams interested in Kenny during the off-season, which opens the door to potential movement there.
