OMiT, Project Notorious, and Team WaR Punch Their EWC Tickets

The road to the Esports World Cup is set for three of the top Challengers organizations. Following the conclusion of the Challengers Finals, the top three finishers from the tournament have officially qualified for the EWC, with one spot still up for grabs heading into a Last Chance Qualifier later this month.

#1: OMiT

OMiT capped off their Challengers Finals run by lifting the trophy, continuing what's become a familiar story for the organization. Long regarded as one of the premier breeding grounds for Challengers talent, OMiT has built a reputation for finding and developing prospects who go on to make an impact at the highest level, and this season was no exception.

Once they signed their young core, the squad finished 2nd in the EMEA Stage 3 Elite, Top 12 in the Major III Pro-AM, 2nd in the Atlanta Open, 1st in the EMEA Stage 4 Elite, and 1st in the Paris Open. They will be a team to watch for upsets in Paris!

#2: Project Notorious

Project Notorious finished as the runner-up at Challengers Finals, locking in their spot in the field for the season's finale tournament. The organization was one of the best in the North American region for the entire season & stacked the team with professional talent.

Every single player they fielded this season had some professional experience, which gave them a major advantage in the open circuit. Beans & Co won 3 Stages of the North American Elite, finished Top 6 in the Dallas Open, 1st in the Birmingham Open, qualified for the Pro-AM, and ended the year with a Top 6 in the Paris Open. While they fell to OMiT in the Grand Finals, they will be a team to watch at EWC.

#3: Team WaR

Rounding out the automatic qualifiers is Team WaR, who secured the third and final guaranteed AM slot with a strong showing at Finals. The organization returned for the Paris Open, signing the highly talented squad & returned a storied org to the scene. Flames & Co would finish 4th in the Paris Open before winning the North American Last Chance Qualifier to just make it to the Challengers Finals. There, they didn't disappoint, knocking off major teams like Huntsmen & Telluride Bush on their way to a Top 3 finish!

One spot still open

While three teams have already locked in their tickets, the region's final AM seed will be decided at a Last Chance Qualifier taking place in Paris from July 31st through August 2nd. With the final spot at the Esports World Cup on the line, expect a stacked field of Challengers contenders looking to close out their season with one more run at the region's biggest stage outside of Finals itself.
