Cloud9 New York has officially released Ben "Beans" McMellon, with the AR player announcing that he is now an unrestricted free agent heading into the heart of the Black Ops 7 season. The news was shared on Twitter by Beans, signaling an end to a short and turbulent stint with the Cloud9 roster.

Beans joined Cloud9 New York as part of the organization’s full rebuild, a project centered around veteran talent. While flashes of his past form were evident, the team fell short consistently in Game 5s. For Beans, the move opens the door to a fresh start, whether with a CDL roster looking to make a change or a top Challenger squad heading into Stage 2.

Overall on the season, Beans has a 0.89 Overall K/D with an 82.3 Slayer Rating and 0.86 Respawn K/D. While he has struggled mightily in both respawn modes, his SND was on point. During Stage I, the Englishman had a 1.16 K/D with a 69% opening duel win rate, 29 snipes, and 2 clutches won. As an unrestricted free agent, Beans is free to explore all options, making him one of the more intriguing names to watch as roster movement continues across the league and the Challengers ecosystem.
