Miami Heretics Take Over Franchise Slot and Unveil 2027 Roster

Miami Heretics have made it official. The organization announced a series of moves today that cement the franchise's future, confirming that they now own the slot outright and have locked in the roster they'll carry into 2027.

The biggest news is off the server. Miami Heretics have taken over the franchise slot from Misfits and will now both own and fully operate the team. It closes the book on the Misfits arrangement and gives Heretics complete control of the organization, from the roster to the business behind it.

On the roster side, the team has brought back the trio of José "ReeaL" Castilla, Diego "SupeR" Escudero, and Adrian "MettalZ" Serrano from last season, keeping the squad's heart intact heading into the new year.

The new addition is Eric "Snoopy" Pérez, who will join as the team's entry SMG. The fit makes sense for Heretics, as the Mexican player lets the team keep communicating in Spanish, a unique identity for the franchise in the league.

The most notable change comes in the role assignments. MettalZ will move to the AR position for the first time since 2019, forming the team's AR duo alongside SupeR. It's a significant shift for a player who has been a fixture at SMG for years, and it gives Miami a new look heading into Modern Warfare IV.

With the slot secured and the roster set, Miami Heretics now turn their attention to the 2027 season.
