Vancouver Surge are undergoing a major reset ahead of Stage IV, releasing veteran flex Thomas "TJHaLy" Haly in their second roster move of the week following the departure of SMG Isaiah "Gwinn" Gwinn.
The change comes after a steady slide in results over the course of the season: a promising Top 8 at Major I gave way to Top 10 at Major II, Top 12 at Minor I, and a disappointing Top 16 at Major III, signalling that the current core had likely hit its ceiling.

Individually, TJHaLy delivered solid but not transformative numbers. He ends his stint with Vancouver on a 0.90 overall K/D, 87.4 Slayer Rating, and 11,479 damage rating, with a 0.89 K/D in respawns and 0.99 K/D in Search & Destroy. On LAN, he actually elevated his play in SND, posting a 0.93 overall K/D and a strong 1.31 SND K/D, underscoring his continued value in the mode. But for a team trying to climb back into true contention, Surge appears to be chasing a higher-impact presence in the flex role.
The organisation is effectively opting for a hard reset on its SMG duo, likely looking to inject fresh talent and a new identity before the final stage and looking forward to the Esports World Cup.
